Description:
There are rules for dealing with ghosts. Too bad Ree Hutchins doesn't know them.
When her favorite patient at a private mental hospital passes away, psychology student Ree Hutchins mourns the elderly woman's death. But more unsettling is her growing suspicion that something unnatural is shadowing her.
Amateur ghost hunter Hayden Priest believes Ree is being haunted. Even Amelia Gray, known in Charleston as The Graveyard Queen, senses a gathering darkness. Driven by a force she doesn't understand, Ree is compelled to uncover an old secret and put abandoned souls to rest—before she is locked away forever....
An ebook exclusive prequel to The Graveyard Queen series ( from Goodreads).
My Thoughts:
This novella is a prequel to The Restorer (the Graveyard Queen #1) and as soon as I saw it available as ebook I had get it and read. I loved The Restorer; I have to say this prequel was little bit different than what I thought it would be. I thought it would be more about Amelia, however the story centered around Ree Hutchins psychology student, whit is volunteering at the psychiatrist hospital. The story begins with the death of a long time psychiatrist patient…
Even though this story was not about Amelia, I still enjoyed it. I liked Ree, she is a smart and resourceful young woman. I have to say the situation that she finds herself in is very creepy. I liked the instant chemistry that was going on between her and Hayden, they fit nicely together as a couple. As I was reading this novella I thought to myself, this could be another ghost series spin-off, but just with Ree and Hayden.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable read. The authors spin on the ghost I find to be very creepy, it actually gives me goose bumps. Which is good, that way you know that it is a good story. This prequel is well written and nicely put together I do wish that it was little bit longer. I would recommend this novella to all the readers who read The Restorer and enjoyed it and to all ghost story lovers. I give this novella 4/5 STARS.

The characters weren't the only great component of this book. I was thoroughly engrossed by the mystery. I felt sucked into the history and heat of the graveyard and what had happened there. I loved reading this book and I'm looking forward to see how the series continues.
